The Dreadnoughts

One part roaring sea shanty, one part haunting Irish melody, and a solid chaser of gut-crunching street punk. This ragtag group of drunken misfits stays true to the ancient ballads and bawlers that once drove sailors around the world, all the while smashing out modern punk with a fury and intensity that is unmatched in their home city of Vancouver, BC.

Eric's songs are at once ingeniously witty, indelibly memorable and incredibly fun. Eric's music videos, including the viral hit, "The Elephant Song", have become hugely popular online, with over 20 million views on YouTube. His songs and videos have been heard and seen nationally on PBS Kids, XM Radio, Fox & Friends and the Today Show, and his song "Blackbeard, Bluebeard and Redbeard" was voted the Best Children's Song by the international music organization Just Plain Folks for their 2006 awards.

 Tom Lewis

With a veritable arsinal of traditional shanties & songs fashioned out of his own seafaring background he recruits his audience for a voyage by turns reflective, dramatic and humorous.  Tom was born in Northern Ireland and that Celtic heritage is obvious in his clear, strong voice, evoking quiet sorrow for a fisherman lost to the sea just as honestly as it powers out a shanty "to be heard above the gales."  One of this worlds most revered living Shantymen and a minstral that must be heard.

Los Angeles based rock group, The Pirates Charles combine old world instruments with modern innovation to create music that is bold, adventurous, and strong. Singing tales of war, man’s ruin, thievery, rebellion, victory and murder. They play ferociously entertaining music spinning tales of adventure and woe, without stooping to clichés. The group’s varying background in Stage, Theatre, Comedy, and the like have culminated into a theatrically diverse and musically engaging performance of war ballads, drinking songs, sea shanties, tales of exotic islands, and characters rich as the queen herself.

The on-ship band of PPF is a swaggering crew of freedom loving scallywags who will entertain one and all with a great mix of traditional and contemparary acoustic music, mingled with original songs and theatrical fun.  Sure to put a smile on your face and tap in your step.

 

Sam Bam Boo

Caribbean Island Band

Sam Bam Boo Caribbean Island BandSam Bam Boo is one of the Northwest's most eclectic, exotic, funky, and just plain fun ensembles performing a variety of traditional Caribbean Music–including Calypso, Soca, Reggae as well as some Blues, Jazz and Surf Music–all with an Island Twist! Featuring the bright and engaging sounds of the Steel Pan, relentless rhythms of Percussion, Funky Bass lines and Soulful Guitar, the group has been well received at numerous festivals including Bumbershoot, Da Vinci Days, World Beat Festival, and the Rose Festival. Founded in l993 and averaging about 150 shows a year, the group has opened for Jimmy Buffet at the Rose Garden several times, and are well known to numerous Parrot Heads around the region.

 

The Lost Highwaymen

Blending a mixture of contemporary classic rock and Irish/maritime influences, the Lost Highwaymen provide a unique sound for evnts all over Portland! Crossing styles and genres at every turn, the Highwaymen enjoy proving that you don’t have to make eardrums bleed to have a big sound!  With their fun and up-beat energy the Lost Highwaymen are destined to please music lovers of all ages. 

 

 Jake Duncan - Didjeridu

Feel the amazing vibrations and precussive magnetism of one of the countries best didj musicians.  You have never heard the Dideridu until you have heard it played by the renouned "King of Didj".  With a virtuosity that rivals the finest instrumental soloists of our time, Jake Duncan will mesmerize you with his incredible rythm and unrivaled musical skill. 

 

Chata Addy & Susuma

 Born and raised in Ghana, West Africa.  Addy is a professional drummer, dancer, chorographer and songwriter.  He is a member of the renowned Addy Family of musicians and dancers.   Chata is now based in Portland Oregon playing music with his Afro Reggae and Funky Highlife dance band Susuma: "This is what I Feel.  All my life is about music. Music is a part of me and is like a friend to me. The rhythms lead me to good feelings," says Chata. "I love to share with my audience, what gives me happiness.". Chata has a lot to give: as a solo performer, with his groups, and as a teacher. He is the force of his rhythms.

Beltaine

A NW celtic music trio that shines as bright as their name, which means "Brilliant Fire".  The musicians of Beltaine deftly play dulcimers, guitar, flute and marimbula and bring a uniquely lively quality to traditional musics from around the world.

 

Zimba! Marimba

This eight-member Portland, Oregon based marimba band specializes in the music of Zimbabwe and other countries of southern Africa. The all-women group is in its thirteenth year, playing for many public and private events in Portland, Oregon and surrounding communities.
