The PORTLAND PIRATE FESTIVAL is an annual family-oriented event that promotes fun and education through Historical Re-enactment, Music, Dance, and Interactive Theater along with cultural awareness while providing philanthropic involvement with local and national charities.

Kate Larsen

"Margot La Mechante de Marseilles"

Producer, actress, singer, pirate and mother. Born in Canada and raised in Virginia, Kate was drawn to the stage as a child and by High School had graced such stages as The Kennedy Center, Wolf Trap Farm Park and Radio City Music Hall. After studying in Europe, Kate left theater behind to become a full time singer , traveling the world working everything from cruise ships in the Mediterranean, Trans-Canal, Caribbean, and Alaska, to Hawaiian Island conventions, coordinating themed events recreating the "roaring 20's," U.S.O." shows, and the M.A.S.H. compound. Kate opened for such celebrities as LIza Minnelli, Julia Iglesias, Willie Nelson, the 5th Dimension and Earth Wind and Fire. Kate has also worked in film, and in the recording studio and is the owner of Margot Productions LLC, a music production company. Under the Margot Productions label Kate has produced BOOM Pirates first cd, "Prepare to be Boarded" and is currently producing the medieval a cappella sounds from EL's show, "Tales of Canterbury". Her favorite role by far is mother of two talented young performers, Signe and Rafe Larsen.  Kate is also a Producer and member of Ensemble Loupan and the B.O.O.M. Pirates. Shuhe Hawkins

Actor of stage & screen, puppeteer, mask performer, director, designer, educator, artistic conducter of Ensemble Loupan and pirate. As an actor and vocal artist, Shuhe has been a working performer for over 15 years.  Amoung Shuhe's many jobs since he has lived in Portland, he worked for Tears of Joy Puppet Theatre as a staple performer, marketing associate, puppet designer/maker, writer and tour manager. He has taught puppet and mask entertainment skills to students all across the Western U.S. and is bringing his own brand of arts education to local schools through Young Audiences of OR & SW WA. Ensemble Loupan was born in 2002 from the notion that "all things are possible."
